Day 2 marked the first swims by DCST’s male swimmers, and they too got off to a great start.  Daniel Hein and Jack Fergus earned National All-American honors twice on the evening.  The first time they earned this distinction was in the Men’s 100 meter Backstroke.  In this event, Hein finished 9th and Fergus finished 15th with their 2.3 and 1.2 seconds time drops on the day, respectively.  These two then teamed up with Ryan Schultz and Dylan Powers to earn National All-American honors with a 16th place finish in the Men’s 200 yard Medley Relay.  This relay dropped 4.1 seconds on the day from their seed time.  This was the first time Dylan has been named a National All-American in his career.

The DCST Women’s 200 Medley Relay of Kylie Olson, Lexi Olson, Caitlynn Moon and Ashley Stark also had a phenomenal swim with a 5.0 second improvement over their entry time.  Ryan Schultz set DCST’s second team record on the day with his 0.4 second time improvement in the 50 meter Breaststroke.  Also in this event, Jacob Bjork lowered his personal best by 2.3 seconds.  Other best times on the day were:  Kyle Olson – 100 Backstroke (3.0 second improvement), Lexi Olson – 50 Breaststroke and Jensen Keck – 50 Breaststroke.  All 3 of DCST’s swims in time trials were personal best times.  Sarah Hein dropped 2.4 seconds in the 100 Backstroke.  Kylie Olson went 3.2 seconds under her previous best in the 200 IM and achieved the National Qualifying time.  Jensen Keck lower her 400 Freestyle time by 2.5 seconds.
