CJ Patterson qualifies for Junior Nationals on day 3!

The third day of competition started off with the 200 IM.  Hannah Deschenes started things off by dropping three seconds off her time and qualifying for finals in 15th place (2:35.87).  On the boys side CJ Patterson qualified for the “A” final in 2:12.07.  That time cut more than 4 seconds off of his personal best.   In the final he was able to drop another .70 to 2:11.31 and finished 2nd overall!  Cj’s time was also a Junior National bonus standard.

In the 50 free Patrick had a best time in 27.07 as did Kellen in 25.70 CJ was just off his time but qualified in 6th at 25.59.  In the final Kellen was able to drop another .20 to 25.52 and placed 7th overall! 

Zach Bishop swam 2:11.43 in the prelims and 2:11.49 in the finals which placed 4th overall in the boys 200 fly .

In the 100 back Hannah dropped 1.5 seconds to finish in 1:13.0 which placed her 21st overall.  Meghan (1:11.03) and Tessa (1:11.18) placed 22 and 23rd in the 15-19 100 back and both swims were best times!  In the boys 100 back CJ and Kellen both made the “A” final.  In the Final Kellen posted a best time of 1:00.11 which placed him 2nd, CJ went 1:00.95 which placed him 4th.

** CJ’s time of 59.45 was a Junior National “A” Standard.  That means he will be traveling to Greensboro North Carolina in December to compete in the USA Swimming Junior Nationals.  He will be able to swim the 100 back along with his bonus cuts.  His Junior national events are: 100 back, 200 back, 100 Fly and 200 IM.  He is the first male swimmer from EST to ever qualify for a National Level meet, Congratulations CJ!  

The last event on Saturday was the 400 Freestyle where Zach cut 4 seconds off his best time and finished 12th overall in 4:19.40.
