Best Times and One Team Record at Junior Nationals!
Lindsey Clary, Jerad Kaskawal, Simon Lamar, Paul Li, and Ganem Tebet competed in Junior Nationals last week.  Lindsey was joined by Keara Chang, Elise Garcia, and Gwendolyn Walter for the 800 Freestyle Relay on Thursday evening.  Thank you to all FAST families who attended to support our swimmers!  FAST results are highlighted below.  Complete results can be viewed here.
Ganem kicked off the meet with a second-best time in the 200 Breaststroke on Monday morning.  His time of 2:22.11 placed 45th overall and was just 0.15 above his previous best time.  Both of these swims qualify Ganem to compete in this summer's Winter National Championships in Knoxville, Tennessee.  He will be joined by Jerad Kaskawal who had a great 1500 Freestyle.  Jerad dropped over 12 seconds and slipped under the 15:50 barrier with his time of 15:49.26.  This placed him in 19th overall.  Simon raced to a second-best time of 16:16.99 for 74th place overall in his first Junior Nationals race.  He was the youngest male competitor in the meet.  Lindsey also turned in a lifetime best on Monday with a 5 second drop in the 800 Freestyle.  Her time of 8:50.40 placed 22nd overall and qualified her for Winter Nationals.
Lindsey, Paul, and Ganem all raced the 400 IM on Tuesday.  Paul and Ganem each swim second-best times finishing in 4:39.48 and 4:39.77, respectively.  They finished 85th and 86th overall.  Lindsey swam 5:00.22 for 49th place in the women's event.
Jerad, Lindsey, and Paul had strong 400 Freestyles on Wednesday.  Jerad dropped over a second for a lifetime best 4:04.08 to take 81st place.  Paul's 4:04.46 was also a lifetime best and finished 86th overall.  Lindsey dropped in the women's event finishing in 4:23.03 for 64th place.
Ganem was FAST's only individual competitor on Thursday.  He swam a lifetime best 1:06.11 in the 100 Breaststroke resetting his own team record of 1:06.55.  Lindsey, Elise, Keara, and Gwen raced the 800 Freestyle Relay in Finals.  Lindsey's lead-off split of 2:07.80 was a second-best time and Gwen split a lifetime best 2:07.86 as the anchor leg.
FAST closed out the meet with three distance races on Friday.  Jerad turned in a lifetime best 8:18.62 qualifying for Winter Nationals and placing 23rd overall.  Simon swam a second-best 8:35.37.  Lindsey also turned in a second-best time in the 1500 Freestyle.  Her time of 17:02.32 placed her 25th overall.
