“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says “I’m possible”.”
- Audrey Hepburn
Plan to be at a parent meeting! Mini Squad’s first meetings were today, and will be held again tomorrow (Thursday) at 4pm and 5:20pm. They are short, sweet, and VERY informative. Not to be missed – plus . . . you get a bag of “swag” when you attend!
Plan to be at a parent meeting! Worth saying again . . . but this time, for the Junior and up groups: Wed, Oct 1, 4:30 – Junior & Super Junior; 5:00 – Intermediate; Thurs Oct 2, 4:30 – Swim Academy; 5:00 Age Group, 5:30 Junior & Super Junior.
Send us your Long Course Club Records: Despite our best efforts to keep track of club records that were broken during the LC season, we suspect that we may have missed a few. If your swimmer broke a record, please email Nancy (email@example.com) ASAP so that we can get it up on the record board and give the rest of the club a goal for this season!
It’s not too late to sign up for Farm Bags: Typically, the last Friday of the month is the due date for orders . . . but we have been granted an extension until October 4th! Just log on to www.farmbagfundraiser.com/kisu-swim-club to place your order. Thank you to Susan Selles and Stella Manuel who have agreed to take on the coordination of the program for KISU! We love our parent volunteers!
Break a Guinness World Record! Right here in Penticton! On Friday, after team practice, head on over to the SOEC to take part in the World Record attempt for the most simultaneous “High-Fives” at one time. This record attempt is in honor of the start of the Vees season – so let’s show our support for another local sports team, and share in the spirit and the fun! Swimmers, parents, friends and neighbors are invited. Be at the SOEC at 5:30.
DID YOU KNOW
. . . that you can become a Level 1 BC Swim Official by volunteering to be a timer at a swim meet? Your first opportunity will be at our Turkey Time Trial – if you are new to officiating, plan to come out and learn how to time, while having the best seat in the house to watch the racing! Our swimmers depend on parent volunteer officials at swim meets – it’s a great way to support your kid and your club!
