Boles and Fornshell Compete as Pacific Swimming All-Stars

Catherine Boles and Laura Fornshell, two 14-year old Islander swimmers coached by Bob Radecke, were chosen to represent Pacific Swimming at the North American Challenge Cup, an international All-Star Meet, held this year in Federal Way, WA on August 8-10.


This was Catherine's third consecutive year to represent Pacific Swimming, swimming as a 12 year old in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and then as a 13 year old in Edmonton, Canada.  This year, Catherine placed in (5) of her individual events:

200m Free, 2:09.40 (5th)

400m Free, 4:33.16 (5th)

100m Back, 1:05.86 (2nd)

200m Back, 2:24.36 (2nd)

200m IM, 2:28.59 (4th), new Islander Team Record


Catherine also swam on two 13-14 Girls Relays (the backstroke leg of the 400 Medley Relay, and the 400 Free Relay), both of which set new Pacific Swimming All-Star Records.


Laura placed in (3) of her individual events:

100m Free, 59.64 (4th), new Islander Team Record

400m Free, 4:37.66 (8th)

800m Free, 9:23.40 (5th)
