Team Store News
The Team Store will be open at the ISC Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 4:30-6:00pm.
Congratulations to Rachel Howard, who competed in her first ever Disability Meet, and swam nearly all best times! Many thanks to all the SCSC teammates, parents and staff who volunteered to help out at this meet, and who came to cheer Rachel on! Rachel is our first ever 'home-grown' disabled swimmer, and we look forward to a great season not only in regular USA Swimming meets, but also participating in Paralympics events.

All Performance Groups
There will a temporary time change for the Performance Prep group pending the hiring of our new lead coach for this group. Until further notice, Prep will be starting at 3:30 instead of 3:45. If your swimmer’s schedule only allows them to come in at 3:45 they are welcome to join us at that time, and finish up at 5:45 with the Hi Performance group.

Three Measures of Workout Success
Technique/Are you working on every aspect of the race you want for yourself?
Turns and Streamlines
Are you doing the number of dolphin kicks that is expected?
Are you aggressively attacking each turn?
Tempo and Stroke Count
Do you know what your stroke count is?
What is the tempo you should feel for each stroke?
Attitude/What is your personal inventory in regards to your attitude?
Attitude towards the workout
Attitude towards your coach and the assistant
Attitude towards your teammates
Teamwork and sportsmanship
Attitude towards self
Attitude towards learning, growing, and improving
Each day regardless of how you feel, on everything that you are supposed to do, are you giving 100%?
Be honest when you think about this and evaluate your effort, the more honest the assessment, the more true you will be towards yourself and the success you are trying to create.
We had a terrific turnout at our first morning practice last week, as well as Saturday morning. Let's keep up the commitment level, hard work and the great attitudes! Remember:

Gold - boys
Nice to see the boys getting back to work. REMINDER: Goal Sheets are due back to coach Mark by this Tuesday, October 8. Also, remember to think about this week' score value assignment. "What does integrity mean to you?" Go SCSC!
Gold - girls
Ladies when you set a goal remember: you should try to swim not only faster but better - with better technique, fewer strokes per length , and more beautifully. The better the technique, the more time goals you reach. Have fun.
We're off to a great start!!! REMINDER: Goal Sheets are due back to coach Steve by this Tuesday, October 8. If you have not received one, please see coach Steve at your next practice session. Also, please bring your mesh bag (and the equipment) to every practice along with a water bottle.
Each swimmer should have a pull buoy no later than the end of the month. You can purchase them at the team store, or any sporting good store. Thank you and looking forward to a great season!
