Swimming World Cup resumes in Moscow

 

 

SWCReady for more World Cup action? The FINA Swimming World Cup 2013 resumes in Moscow (RUS) this week-end, October 12-13! The second cluster's first stage will be followed by Dubai (UAE) from October 17-18 and Doha (QAT) from October 20-21.

The heavyweights of the international swimming scene will be racing for top honours in the Russian capital, which is hosting the Swimming World Cup for the tenth times.

Prize money is distributed to all medallists of the 34 individual events at each meet. Besides, the top-6 swimmers after each cluster receive a prize money (USD 150'000 for men and USD 150'000 for women will be on offer for cluster no.2). At the end of the Series, the men's and women's World Cup winner will receive USD 100'000 in prize money, the second-placed USD 50'000 and third-placed USD 30'000.

Among men, Olympic champion Chad Le Clos (RSA) currently leads the overall rankings with 128 points. Vladimir Morozov (RUS) is second with 87 points while Daniel Gyurta (HUN) completes the top-3 with 84 points.

2012 World Cup winner Katinka Hosszu (HUN) positions herself as the top qualifier this year as well with a comfortable 282 points. Spain's Mireia Belmonte is runner-up with 97 points while Ranomi Kromowidjojo (NED) is third with 86 points.
