We are embarking on a new challenge to rays our standards and become an even better team than before. To do this we will need everyone's participation. This challenge is an exciting and fun way to improve ALL your strokes! Below you will read about IMX and IMR programs and how they can motivate you to new levels of excellence.
IMX and IMR projects were developed to encourage participation in all 4 strokes and the IMs. When you swim all of the selected events for your age (see below) you will receive a score. (The scoring for this is done the same nationwide and is not related to State times or A-B times.)
Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, will be to swim all the events of IMX and IMR and commit to improving ALL of them. In the process, you will become a more well-rounded swimmer, have an experience toolbox full of all the experiences that make and shape a swim team, score points that can help Stingrays achieve the Gold Medal of Club Excellence and finally, you will score points that will be used in our very own Awards of Excellence! To do this you must swim all the events in your age group!
9-10 events: 100 Fr, 50 Bk, 50 Brst, 50 Fly, 100 IM (200 IM LC)
11-12 events: 500 Fr (400 Fr LC), 100 Bk, 100 Brst, 100 Fly, 200 IM
13-18 events: 500 Fr (400 Fr LC), 200 Bk, 200 Brst, 200 Fly, 200 IM, 400 IM
*Couple of notes:
1. To get a score, you must do all the events for your age.
2. Your scores are single-age compared. In other words, 11 year olds are compared to 11 year olds, 12s to 12s, etc
3. If you would like to see if you already have a score, go to www.usaswimming.org, then, the "TIMES" tab at the top. There, a droptab will show "IMX & POWERPOINT". Click on that and go exploring! You can also use the PowerPoint system to see how much each swim and your time is worth. Way cool, Stingrays.
