DCST Goes to 3 - 0 on the Season

DCST Goes to 3 – 0 on the Season

        DCST improved to 3 – 0 on the season with wins over visiting Sage (McHenry County) YMCA Piranhas and Green County (Monroe, WI) Golden Gators.  As a team, DCST swam great with 216 career best times out of a total of 360 swims for a 60% improvement rate. Moreover, 36 of these swims were a new event legally swum by a DCST swimmer for the first time in their career. DCST also had 16 swims which achieved the District Qualifying, and 9 swims which achieved the State Qualifying time for the first time.

            A very impressive 78 swimmers had a great meet with at least two career best times. These swimmers were:  Franz Allendorfer, Camryn Anderson, Gavin Anderson, Emma Bafia, Kristina Biundo, Austin Bockman, Owen Bockman, Gabriella Bothe, Nathan Braun, Aiden Bruhl, Justin Buck, Maxwell Buck, Jordan Burke, Sadie Burton, Michael Carlson, Celia Carpenter, Robert Carpenter, Emily Capino, Danny Cork, Kylie Cork, Bella De La Cruz, Nina De La Cruz, Anabelle Engleson, Ava Farrell, Grace Fergus, Nolan Fergus, Maura Fisers, Nick Glover, Adam Goelitz, Kaitlyn Goff, Donny Gramer, Jacob Gramer, Teresa Gramer, Anthony Gutierrez, Kylee Heck, Theo Heilman, Emma Heinisch, Grace Johnson, Sara Johnson, Abby Krull, Sam Krull, Mikaili Little, Julia Luo, Caroline Mackey, Josephine McMahon, Emily Mildner, Libby Mildner, Mason Miller, Rebecca Nenonen, Nate Newlin, Abby Oberg, Abby Pardridge, Allie Peterson, Dylan Rasmussen, Julia Rasmussen, Carson Rose, David Ruetten, Paul Ruetten, Bella Schmerbach, Jackson Shortridge, Alexander Skrzypek, Andrew Smith, Hunter Smith, Emily Stark, Paige Summerhill, Alyssa Swanson, Libby Swedberg, Amanda Underwood, Madison Underwood, Calvin VanderSchee, Natalie Wagner, David Wanner, Anna Westhoff, Emma Westhoff, Asher Wiegartz, Aleida Wilkins, Morgan Williams and Catherine Zamora.

            After each meet, the coaching staff picks two swimmers, one girl and one boy, as the “Big Dogs" of the meet. Big Dogs are not only selected on their performance in the meet, but the coaches also take into consideration the swimmer’s practice attendance, work ethic, team spirit and sportsmanship. For this meet, Nina De La Cruz, age 8, and Hunter Smith, age 9, were selected as Big Dogs of the meet.

          DCST swimmers ages 11 and older will be competing tomorrow at the Rockford Early Bird Meet.  Next Saturday, DCST will have its next meet at Rock River Valley (Rockford).  Freeport will also be at this meet.
