Congratulations to our Whopper Droppers and 100% Best Time swimmers – (see attached) from the Carrollton Fall Invite last weekend.
The coaches watched some exciting races this weekend. Emma McLaughlin swam an incredible 100 Fly following Coach David’s instructions to only breath 4 times!! She consistently took 4-6 pulls before EVERY breath for the entire 100 yards! This is pretty incredible for any swimmer.
We also enjoyed Liam Wilson’s last 25 of his 100 free - We are introducing the idea of swimming the 2nd half of your race faster than the first in Bronze and he really knew how to “negative-split” that last length! Noticeable difference in his stroke rate! Now Coach Denise will have to address not saving too much for the end J Katherine Rausch impressed Coach Denise with her intense focus for each race! Even Coach Cathy could see it in her eyes while swimming the backstroke!
Summer How had a fierce fight for the 100 IM and swam down her last 25 to finish 1st! Nanami Lillie’s extra work on fly this year is showing with a 2 second drop and a close race for a 3rd place finish.
Marty Stange must be noticing his work paying off in meets with his 25.66 finish in his 50 free. Wonderful to see so many great swims this weekend!
This was a good meet for our new team members. This format and size will be similar to the Turkey Shoot in November and the Candy Cane meet in December! We encourage all our new team members and those working toward their IronMan award to attend both of these meets.
The Turkey Shoot in November only offers the 400 IM and/or the 500 and 1000 Free. It is a great meet to get those distance events done for the year.
Speaking of the IronMan award… If you need to see the list of events that your swimmer must complete, please go to the website and click on the Documents and Results tab – you will find the IronMan Goal sheet appropriate for your age swimmer.
Please note we will have our regular practice schedule this week.
We will NOT have practice on Saturday, Nov 16th. Kedron will be closed due to a High School Swim meet.
We will post our official Thanksgiving Break practice schedule as soon as it is approved by Kedron. We have requested the same practice times in the afternoon.
