Loggerhead B Champs Team
Cecil Field Aquatics Center
13611 Normandy Boulevard
Jacksonville, FL 32221
There are roughly 900 swimmers participating in this weekends meet at Cecil Field. The venue will be very crowded and we suggest that families plan some extra time to secure seating (and parking) prior to the start of warm ups. Due to the size of the meet there will be limited warm up and warm down space (diving well) during the meet. Swimmers on the deep end of the pool (boys) will need to pay close attention to the meet as event and heat numbers will not be displayed on the scoreboard. Remember, event numbers will be skipping as all boys are on one course and all girls are on another (more info below).
Please make sure that all swimmers are on time for their assigned warm ups. We have assigned times and lanes for our team warm up and we will be unable to accommodate swimmers that miss their assigned warm ups.
Any updates to warm ups will be placed on our team Twitter page @JCLALoggerhead which will also appear on our team homepage.

The morning sessions will be run in two courses. The girl’s course will be run in the shallow side running ten lanes. The boy’s course will run on the deep side utilizing eight lanes.
The afternoon session (10&U) will run just one course in the shallow side using ten lanes.
All of the sessions will last roughly four hours.
Loggerhead will have coaches on each side of the pool so swimmers should check in with the coaches on their side of the pool.
On Sunday after the morning session there will be a high point ceremony as well as after the afternoon session. At the end of Sunday afternoon session there is also a team high point ceremony.
As usual, if your swimmer elects to wear a swim cap it MUST be a Loggerhead team cap. Coaches will have extra caps with them should you need one.
Swimmers should always be dressed overly warm. Shoes should be worn at all times to help keep the swimmer in best race-ready condition!
Saturday: Navy TShirts
Sunday: Green TShirts
As this is a Championship Meet swimmers may wear a technical suit. Should your swimmer elect to wear a technical swimsuit they should not wear the suit for warm ups. Swimmers will have a chance to put their suit on after warm ups. Swimmers in the afternoon 10&U session may elect to wear their suits in warm ups if their parents feel that they are not quick chang(ers).
What to Pack:
Pack extra towels, a competition suit, a warm up suit, an extra pair of goggles, an extra shirt, sweats or parkas, snacks (light fruits are best), water, and cash for a heat sheet. Chairs and tents may be a good addition.
All relay teams will be announced by the coaches to swimmers after warm ups the day of the meet. Prior to leaving the meet, please have your swimmer check in with their coach to make sure that there weren’t any relay changes. Relays are at the end of the day on both Saturday and Sunday. The meet has limited teams to an ‘A’ and ‘B’ Relay only. Please note that names in the pysch sheet are not the official relay / relay order and we will let all swimmers know the relay teams in the morning. Swimmers that have an ‘A’ time in a stroke (regardless of distance) may not swim that stroke in the relay.
We hope to display fantastic sportsmanship and be the best teammates at Cecil Field this weekend. We hope that swimmers will be in their proper Loggerhead apparel at all times, cheer on their teammates, and be excellent supporters of each other. Swimmers are encouraged to go beyond their normal attire and create their own Loggerhead costumes and spiritwear! Creative posters are great, too! There is a team spirit award at this meet that Loggerhead proudly brought home in 2012. Let’s show our team pride!
Let’s GO LOGGERHEAD!
