Great Drops at Winter Senior Invitational!
Thirteen swimmers from the Senior group raced at the SCS Winter Senior Invitational, December 19-22.  Elise Garcia, Sidney Kao, Isabella Kearns, Diego Pabalan, Mandy Schatz, Natalie Tedjasukmana, Courtney Tseng, and Justin Wang all posted best times.  Complete results from the meet can be viewed here.
FAST started off strong with the Women's 1,000 and Men's 1,650 on the first day.  Elise dropped 3.5 seconds finishing in 10:25.20 for 5th place overall.  Courtney's time of 10:29.85 was a best by almost 18 seconds and placed 8th overall.  Courtney also posted a best time in the 500 along the way with a split of 5:09.72, a 5 second drop.  Sidney had a huge drop of 27 seconds for a lifetime best 15:45.01 in the mile.  His 9:30.25 split at the 1,000 mark was an improvement of over 11 seconds and his 500 split of 4:40.93 was a 5-second drop.  Sidney placed 2nd overall.
Elise and Courtney returned on the second day with drops in the 500 Free.  Both girls raced prelims and finals of the 500 finishing 5th (5:02.06) and 15th (5:13.90), respectively.  Diego dropped 3 seconds in the 500 Free posting a lifetime best 4:51.61.

Four swimmers posted best times on Day 3.  Isabella and Mandy improved in the 200 Fly.  Both swimmers qualified for finals posting best times of 2:05.84 and 2:12.89, respectively.  Isabella placed 9th overall and Mandy finished 21st.  Elise dropped 2.5 seconds in the 200 Free for a lifetime best 1:52.77 and 9th place finish.  Courtney had two great 400 IMs qualifying for finals and dropping over 7 seconds at night with a lifetime best 4:39.07 to take 19th place overall.  Courtney posted a lifetime best 100 Fly during the first 100 of her 400 IM touching at 1:01.46.
FAST had four lifetime bests on the final day.  Sidney posted a 9:31.57 in the 1,000 dropping 10.5 seconds to finish 4th overall.  Diego dropped half a second in the 100 Free posting a 50.25.  Natalie also dropped in the 100 Free finishing in 54.97 and breaking the 55-second barrier for the first time.  Justin dropped a second and a half in the 200 Breast for a lifetime best 2:19.56.
