DTAC Finishes 3rd at Dual Meet of Champs

The Desert Thunder Age Groupers won all three dual meets and with exceptional individual swims and strong relays the team finished in it's highest position in over a decade by coming in 3rd of 8 teams at the Arizona Dual Meet of Champions. It was the first time DTAC was able to slip past Swim Pasadena in this tournament, as they finished 4th. The top 2 positions were held by Swim Neptune and Scottsdale Aquatics.

Team records fell in the 9 year old boys' division with Nathan Calmese taking down the 100 Breaststroke record held by Ian McIlwraith since March, 2006. And Callie Lucero went on a tear down of her own records by breaking five different 8 year old girls' records in the 50 free, 100 back, 50 breast, 100 breast, and 100 fly... all of which were already held by her.

In the finals the team was supported with individual victories by Marina McInelly in the 13-14 girls 200 IM and Nathan Calmese's 100 breast for 10 and Unders (as a  9 year old).

Congratulations to all the Desert Thunder Age Group swimmers for their success, hard work, and achievement!
