Weekly News (Feb 3-9)

Hello Panthers,

Big week for our Senior Panthers as they travel to International School Manila for the IASAS Championships. They have been training hard and are ready to make our team proud. Because of this competition, Coach Golf and myself will not be on deck for Wed-Fri. Coach Nuk will be taking Coach Golf’s 8 and under squad and coach Chris will be on deck to help with pictures and other issues that may come up. I will always be on Internet so please feel free to email me if you need to.

If you have ever considered coming to the pool and watching a practice, now would be the time. We have our new top of the line, 4 underwater video camera training system up and running. 1/3 of our team has visited “Coach Chris’s Clinic” and he reports it is incredibly effective already. Take a look at their website if you are interested

Upcoming events:

8 and under squads set on team website: The coaches have set their 8 and under squads and they have sorted them on our website. If you look at your swimmers profile page, you will see their squad under the “roster tab”. For this semester Coach Chris will be team coaching with Coach Gai’s 8 and under group.

Picture retakes on Wednesday Feb 5th: Please bring your yellow shirt and black shorts for this day. All ages will swim at the 50 m pool this day. Photos will start with 8&under groups at 2:20 and then go from there.

Splash Meet registration: So far we have more than half our swimmers signed up for the splash meet on March 15/16. Please sign up your swimmers as soon as possible. Remember that this meet is mandatory. Please do not worry about what events they are swimming if you want the coaches to decide. One thing that seems to be confusing is that there is a separate sign up for Saturday and Sunday. Saturday is the team competition and Sunday is swum on an individual basis and events are also 50 m. This is Sunday morning only and is a great chance to try 50 meter racing at our own pool. So please indicate if you are wanting to swim on Sunday or you are not.

See you all next week,

Coach Day
