Thirty-One Lifetime Bests and Two Team Records at Club Championships

Eighteen FAST swimmers raced in last weekend's Club Championships and posted 31 lifetime best times! Three team records were broken and 8 swimmers finished among the Top 8 in multiple events. FAST highlights are below. Complete results can be viewed here.
Ryan Cavanagh dropped over 8 seconds in the 1,000 Freestyle touching in 10:27.25 for 15th place overall.
Kailee Chow dropped 8 seconds in the 500 Free and earned 6th place overall. Her time of 6:05.52 ranks 11th in the country among 9-year old girls. Kailee also had a drop of almost 1 full second in the 200 Free (2:23.12).
Makena Ditsworth broke her own team record in the 1,000 Freestyle touching in 10:48.11, a drop of more than 3 seconds. She earned 2nd place overall. Makena won the 500 Freestyle later in the meet with a lifetime best 5:15.02, a drop of over 4 seconds. Makena also had a great drop in the 200 Fly improving by 1 second to 2:13.69 and earning 3rd place.
Tyryn Empremsilapa swam lifetime bests in the 500 Free and 100 Fly. Her time of 5:59.61 in the 500 Free was a drop of almost 3 seconds and her first time under the 6:00 barrier. She finished 4th in the event. Tyryn improved in the 100 Fly in both Prelims and Finals posting a final time of 1:08.41 in the evening and earning 5th place overall.
Hannah Frey had an 8-second drop in the 1,000 Freestyle touching in 11:23.77. She was just shy of the Top 8 finishing 9th overall.
Annie Johnson improved in all four of her races earning Top 8 finishes in three of the four. Her biggest drops came in the 1,000 Free (11:22.48) and 1,650 Free (19:07.04) improving by 13 seconds in each and finishing 8th and 6th, respectively. She also claimed the 8th place spot in the 200 Flu touching in 2:20.35, a 6.5-second drop. Annie dropped over 5 seconds in the 400 IM improving to 5:04.03.
Doug Johnson dropped in both of his swims, the 1,000 Free and 500 Free. He cut over 7 seconds off of his 1,000 Free for a final time of 10:27.82 and had a 1-second drop in the 500 Free touching in 5:10.06.
Leah Johnson broke two team records in the distance freestyle events o her way to victories in each. Leah dropped almost 9 seconds in the 1,000 Free for a final time of 10:46.22, breaking teammate Makena Ditsworth's record of 10:51.50 set at last month's Junior Olympics. Leah broke her own record from Junior Olympics in the 1,650 Free touching in 18:02.52, a drop of more than 5 seconds. Leah had a third victory in the 400 IM dropping almost 15 seconds with a great time of 4:43.09. She also improved in the 500 Free (5:18.49) earning 2nd place.
Maya Lee posted lifetime bests in the 1,000 Free and 200 Fly. Her 1,000 time of 11:40.48 was a drop of more than 5 seconds. Maya's 200 Fly time of 2:28.90 was a drop of almost 4 full seconds.
Angie Mai swam a lifetime best in the 500 Free. Her time of 6:19.33 was a drop of 6.5 seconds.
Terence Ma had an incredible 41-second drop in the 1,000 Free posting a lifetime best 11:02.69 and earning 2nd place. Terence also dropped in his 500 Free touching in 5:23.81, a 4-second drop. He placed 8th in the 500.
Evelyn McIlveen posted best times in the 400 IM and 200 Back. Her 400 IM time of 4:58.35 was a drop of more than 5 seconds and her first time under the 5:00 barrier. She improved by 2.5 seconds in the 200 Back touching in 2:20.47, just shy of the Top 8 for 9th place overall.
Cathryn Salladin had two fantastic 500 Freestyle races with a 4-second drop to 5:08.89 in Prelims and improvement to 5:07.66 in the evening's Finals. Cathryn earned 4th place overall in the event. She also dropped in the 400 IM on the first day touching in 4:45.22, an improvement of more than 3 seconds.
