"On The Fence"

Wow! Whew! Yeah! The meet on Saturday was a close one! I love it when the entire meet comes down to the last relays. Great job to all those that participated and to those that crowded the pool deck to cheer them on. That was one of the loudest races a I recall in recent history. Keep up all the good work everyone.

From my new spot on the fence, I am seeing a large increase in team spirit and pride. The wedding theme turned out to be a great idea and a huge success on Saturday. If you weren’t there, all the kids were dressed in their wedding garb and marched in boy, girl in front of Coach Dave and his bride to be, Lauren. It was too cute. I can’t wait to see all of the pictures at the banquet. Psst, don’t forget to sign up for the banquet and buy your tickets early. Back to the wedding, lets all do our part to make it a great event at the Wednesday night meet.

Speaking of Wednesday night, thanks to the Schwarzenberg family for stepping up and taking over the grill coordinator position. This is a huge task, so make sure to stop by and thank them for their effort. Proceeds from the grill/ snack bar fund our everyday operations and keep our swim team fees low. Please support the team by stopping by and making a purchase. The grilled chicken sandwiches are fantastic.

Speaking of funding the swim team, how about our lane sponsors? Our lanes are all sold out this year. As a family member, I am not allowed to mention what an awesome job she did but her initials are Teresa Byrnes. If you can, show some love to our sponsors by sending some business their way, it would be much appreciated. Also mention their sign so they know their advertising is working. This years lane sponsors are The Little Gym in Mt Airy, Mimi Nails, ARL Signs, Anytime Fitness, Aardvark Swim and Sport and Teresa Byrnes, Long & Foster Realtor.

That’s it for now. Until next time, you can find me on the fence.
