12&U Day two recap

Day two is in the books, and EST swimmers have continued to rock the pool.  Leading off the morning was the boys 11-12 200 Medley relay where the team of Max Reich, Thomas Choquette, Tony Min & Andrew Benson broke a team record that has stood since 1990.  Their time of 2:00.99 dropped almost 2 seconds from the former record. (2:02.74)

Not to be left out of the relay success our 10 & under girls 200 medley relay: Elizabeth Bencze, Megan Metivier, Megan Reich and Carly Caswell dropped 9 seconds from their seed time and moved up to 11th overall.  Their time was only 1 second off a team record that has stood since 1986!

Brady Dixon and Megan Reich also had individual events, Brady dropped almost 3 seconds in his 100 free to place 18th and Megan matched that drop in her 50 fly going from 38.27 to a 35.42.  That time earned her 9th place overall for 9yr olds.

In the 200 BR Emily (12th 2:39.87), Max (4th 2:41.97) and Tony (13th 2:43.72) all posted personal bests in the prelims and then again in the finals!

The 50 free was also well represented with Andrew, Max, Thomas and Tony all making finals.  Tony swam a personal best in the morning posting a 26.71 which tied him for the last spot in finals.  In the swim off for finals not only did Tony win but he posted a 25.98!

In the 50 free finals we had our first individual event winner of the meet!  Andrew posted a 26.28 which was almost a full second off his time.

The last 11-12 event of the day was the 200 back where Andrew (2:24.18) and Max (2:28.32) placed 5th and 8th
