Cary Barracudas Swim Past DCST

Cary Barracudas Swim Past DCST

DCST fell to 3 – 1 on the season with a 388 – 305 lost at Cary. DCST only had 35 swimmers who participated in the meet compared to 125 swimmers for Cary. In additions to the low turnout, DCST did not swim practically well with only 13 career best times out of 94 swims (14%). DCST looks for a better performance and participation level when they compete at Woodstock on Tuesday, July 7. Woodstock should be DCST toughest competition this season. Woodstock finished second behind DCST at last year’s Conference Championship Meet.
After each meet, the coaching staff picks two swimmers, one girl and one boy, as the “Big Dogs" of the meet. Big Dogs are not only selected on their performance in the meet, but the coaches also take into consideration the swimmer’s practice attendance, work ethic, team spirit and sportsmanship. For this meet, Kendra Aumann-Weyenberg, age 10, and Benjamin Johnson, age 10, were selected as Big Dogs of the meet.
DCST had 3 swimmers who had at least 2 lifetime best performances in their individual events. These swimmers were as follows: Sarah Hein, Tyler Hull and Benjamin Johnson.
Note – DCST was late in posting the results from this meet, as we did not receive an electronic copy of the results until Monday, July 6. Furthermore, at the conclusion of the meet Cary did not have the ribbons ready for DCST to take home. Therefore, they will be mailing us our ribbons. Once we receive these ribbons, then they will placed in the swimmer’s file folders.
