DCST Welcomes Back High School Boy Swimmers (Six Qualify for IHSA State Meet)
DCST would like to welcome back many of our high school aged boy swimmers who have been swimming with their high school teams. The boys just finished a very successful high school season. Overall, DCST had 15 boys represent 4 different high schools at 3 different sectional meets. Six DCST swimmers qualified for the IHSA State Meet. Listed below are these swimmers with some highlights.
Aurora (Marmion) - Jack Fergus represented Aurora (Marmion). As a team, Marmion finished 5th at the Metea Valley Sectional Meet. At the State Meet, Marmion finished in 11th place. Jack qualified for the State Meet in the 100 Backstroke and on both the 200 Medley and 400 Freestyle Relay teams; he finished in 8th, 9th and 4th respectively in these events.
DeKalb / Sycamore Co-op– Twelve boys on the DeKalb / Sycamore team are DCST swimmers (Jacob Bjork, Austin Bockman, Michael Carlson, Daniel Hein, Ryan Lindsey, Holden Mackey, Matthew Marchewka, Dylan Powers, Dylan Rasmussen, Ryan Schultz, Tyler Schultz and Amal Tatum). As a team, they finished 3rd at the St. Charles Sectional Meet. At the State Meet, they finished in 12th place. Jacob Bjork, Daniel Hein, Holden Mackey, Dylan Powers and Ryan Schultz qualified for the IHSA State Meet. The 200 yard Medley Relay team of Hein, Schultz, Powers and Mackey earned a 7th place. Bjork joined Hein, Powers and Mackey to garner a 21st place finish in the 400 yard Freestyle Relay. In individual events, Daniel was 3rd in the 100 yard Backstroke and 7th in the 100 yard Butterfly. Also in the 100 yard was Dylan, who placed 13th. In the 100 yard Breaststroke, Jacob and Ryan were 15th and 23rd, respectively.
Kaneland - Ty Ament represented Kaneland High School. Ty swam with DCST as their high school does not official have a high school team; therefore, the team was not allowed to score points at the St. Charles Sectional Meet.
West Chicago (Wheaton Academy) - Carson Rose represented West Chicago (Wheaton Academy) High School. Carson swam with DCST as his high school does not official have a high school team; therefore, the team was not allowed to score points at the Downers Grove Sectional Meet.
