GOAL Men win 800 Free Relay at Sectionals

GOAL won the Men's 800 Free Relay to close out the Friday night finals session at the Sectional Championships in Tulsa, OK tonight.  The team of RJ Hemmingsen (1:42.34), Michael Mollak (1:42.10), Will Frisbie (1:44.96), and Jacob Molacek (1:37.06) swam to a winning time of 6:46.46, breaking GOAL's own Midwestern record in the process.  GOAL sits in a tie for 6th place in the overall team standings.

GOAL's girls 800 Free Relay finished 10th place, breaking a GOAL team record.  The team of Elizabeth Amato-Hanner (1:54.33), Brianna McCullough (1:55.10), Jordan McCullough (1:56.03) and Dana Posthuma (1:57.75) finished with a 7:43.21.

Jacob Molacek set a new Region 8 record of 1:36.48 in the men's 200 freestyle in the morning preliminaries, and came back to win the event in finals in a 1:36.59.  RJ Hemmingsen also got on the awards podium, placing 2nd in the 100 butterfly (48.13), just ahead of teammate Jacob Molacek (48.38).
