Weekly News (April 21-26)

Hello Panthers,

We have almost made it through the first week back from holidays and are now battling the heat, along with holiday jet lag. Good news is that the pool temperature is holding at nice relaxing 28 degrees C, which is still well under the “safe” swimming temperature guidlines.

Almost 6 full weeks of training to go, so let’s make the most of the last days in the pool!

Important News:

***Year End Party***

At this point we have only half the team signed up for ISB Year End Sprint Fest on Friday May 23.  Please not that is not a meet, this is end of year celebration and awards dinner all rolled in to one. It will take place after school and run until around 6:30.  This is a family affair, so bring everyone!

Please parents; we need swimmers committed ASAP. Food, awards, party gifts and such have to be ordered well before the date of the party. All you have to do is click “commit athlete”; we will do the rest.

ALSO…we are hoping to have parent swimmers to swim in the 25m heats with their children. There will be swims by coaches, school administrators and other special guests…so the more the merrier. Email me if you are interested in swimming.

Progress/Goal Reports:

The reports have all been passed out, or are in your swimmer’s folder. If you have any questions regarding the reports please speak with their coach.

Senior Distance Time Trial:

Reminder that this Friday is the senior time trial, but it will not affect any practice times. 10 and under will practice before the time trials.

Seniors will start to warm up at 3:00pm, first race will be 3:30 sharp.

Heats will be posted at 2:30 on Friday, so come before warm up to see what heat and lanes you are in.

Age up swimmers:

For those swimmers moving up to a new age group before Swimfest of next year (November), you will be making that move for the remainder of this school year. Next week, all swimmers who fall into this category will move up to the next group starting next Monday. The coaches have spoke with these swimmers already, so they are all excited to make the jump!

The purpose of this move is to give the swimmers a chance to swim with their new lane mates before the start of next year. Making the start of the swim season a little less stressful.

Early Dismissal April 29:

All practice times move up one hour as per usual.

May 5th Coronation Day

No practice
