The Springfield Family Y, Swim Coaches, and swimmers wish to express the BIGGEST THANKS to MarGO Geer for a great evening on Thursday, May 8th. Truly, she is a "Y Champion" to our kids by setting a great example of giving back to our Y by caring & volunteering ... truly priceless.
SPY Alum, University of Arizona 's 4 year Student-Athlete Standout, and 3-time D1 NCAA Swim Champion, Margo Geer from Milford Center, Ohio spent the evening with our SPY Swimmers. She spent time talking and working with kids from age 7 through 18. She chatted with the kids about her swimming of the past, present, and future. The girl got in the pool with our swimmersl ... yeah, getting wet and providing great strokework for speed in her speciality- freestyle. It was awesome watching our kids see her swim and listen to her.
About two weeks ago, she contacted the SPY coaches about wanting to help out with the swim team during her 6 day visit home in Ohio. We are so happy to see her again too. MarGO just competed a stellar collegiate swimming career. Now, the swimming will still continue in Arizona training with other Olympians like Matt Grevers. MarGO's swim goals are to qualify for 2016 Olympics.
Our team is blessed by so many SPY Alumni who support and give back to our Springfield Family Y in so many different ways. Again, Thank you to everyone who cares for our Y kids.
