Success is where preparation and opportunity meet. – Bobby Unser
KISU’s last official practice of the season happened on Friday, June 20th. Thank you swimmers, families, coaches, and staff for an amazing season! Our to do list is small . . . but worth noting!
Sign up to Volunteer for the Granfondo children’s event, Piccolofondo: Sign up is on the website for this event happening on July 12th.
Registration for Next Season opens August 1: Please ensure that this season’s bill is paid by our year end, July 31. Next season, we will be accepting payment by credit card only (prepaid cards are fine). Please contact us if this will be a problem for you and we can discuss other arrangements. The website has been updated with next season’s information. Our updated Volunteer Policy will be a part of the registration next season. Additionally, you will notice an increase in training fees, which has been necessary to meet our operational costs. Some training groups have increased more than others in an effort to more accurately reflect the different coaching and pool time. Questions can be directed to club president, Nancy Telford, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Masters Swimmers - sign up for Summer Masters by June 30th: We are running two morning practices per week at the pool, Monday and Thursday, through July and August, but need a minimum number of swimmers to make it go ahead. Cost is $50 for once per week and $90 for twice per week. You must register online! (from the Registration button on the home page). No payment is required until we confirm that the sessions will go ahead. Deadline to register is June 30th.
BC SUMMER GAMES
The Summer Games are held every two years, and this year they are in Nanaimo July 17-20. Swimmers in the Summer Games are the top 12-14 year olds in the Province (Western National de-qualifying times) and KISU is proud to have 9 of our swimmers on the Zone 2 Swim Team, which represents our region. Congratulations to: Acacia Benn, Myah Nackoney, Anna Spence, Belize Souch-Tremblay, Mackenzie Wallich, Daniel Everton, Xelian Louw, Tyler Wall, and Keation Woods! Congratulations also go out to KISU swimmers Hector Greig, for making the Para Team, and Amanda Schleppe, for making the Special Olympics Team! We wish all of our swimmers the best of luck!
