Three Team Records and 164 Lifetime Bests at June Age Group Invitational!
FAST swimmers turned in 164 lifetime bests at last weekend's June Age Group Invitational!  FAST placed 5th overall in the team scoring.  Team highlights are below.  Complete results can be viewed here.

Makena Ditsworth raced her way to three new FAST team records (listed below).  Teammate Leah Johnson also swam under the previous team record in the 200-meter Butterfly with a lifetime best 2:29.47, a drop of almost 4 seconds.
  • 11-12 Girls 800-meter Freestyle, 9:48.09 (Previous Record: 9:51.71 -- Leah Johnson, March 2014)
  • 11-12 Girls 100-meter Butterfly, 1:10.10 (Previous Record: 1:10.41 -- Bethany Dong, July 2003)
  • 11-12 Girls 200-meter Butterfly, 2:29.08 (Previous Record: 2:33.43 -- Makena Ditsworth, April 2014)
Sixteen swimmers swam lifetime bests in all of their events.  Congratulations to Peter Bauer, Alejandro Buendia, Katie Cho, Gianna Cross, Makena Ditsworth, Hannah Frey, Ryan Friedman, Annie Johnson, David Konefsky, Alex Kowalski, Maya Lee, Angie Mai, Clarence Mao, Lilly Mazzi, Preston Shin, and Kaitlyn Yee!
 
The biggest drop of the weekend was posted by Gold swimmer Joey Weissig who chopped off over 53 seconds in the 1500 Freestyle!  Other huge drops were turned in by Peter Bauer (30+ in the 400 IM), Emily Bautista (16+ in the 800 Free), Alejandro Buendia (13+ in the 100 Breast), Ryan Cavanagh (18+ in the 1500 Free), Katie Cho (14+ in the 400 Free), Gianna Cross (19+ in the 800 Free and 32+ in the 1500 Free), Ethan Dickinson (20+ in the 1500 Free), Maddie Garcia (12+ in the 400 IM), Elizabeth Harita (10+ in the 200 Free), David Konefsky (11+ in the 200 IM), Clarence Mao (14+ in the 200 IM), Bella Osuna (23+ in the 800 Free), Bella Osuna (10+ in the 400 Free), Jared Spuur (11+ in the 800 Free), and Kendall Wilson (15+ in the 800 Free).

Nineteen swimmers earned second swims in one event or more for a total of 38 individual Finals swims for FAST: Peter Bauer (50 Free), Kayleen Bretz (400 Free), Ryan Cavanagh (400 Free), Ethan Dickinson (400 Free), Makena Ditsworth (200 Fly), Andres Frausto (200 IM, 400 Free, 200 Fly), Sophia Gaitatjis (200 Fly), Elise Garcia (200 Free, 400 Free, 100 Free, 50 Free), Maddie Garcia (400 Free, 200 Fly), Doug Johnson (200 Breast), Lawrence Mao (50 Free), Mick Olson (200 Back), Diego Pabalan (200 Free, 200 Back, 100 Fly, 100 Back), Cathryn Salladin (200 Breast, 400 Free, 400 IM), Mandy Schatz (400 IM, 200 Fly), Kevin Smithmatungol (200 Breast, 100 Back), Courtney Tseng (200 IM, 100 Fly, 400 Free, 400 IM), and Michael Wang (200 Back, 100 Fly, 400 IM, 200 Fly).

Highlighting the evening swims were lifetime bests from Ryan Cavanagh (400 Free), Makena Ditsworth (200 Fly), Sophia Gaitatjis (200 Fly), Maddie Garcia (400 Free, 200 Fly), Leah Johnson (200 Fly), Lawrence Mao (50 Free), Cathryn Salladin (400 IM), Mandy Schatz (200 Fly), Kevin Smithmatungol (100 Back), Courtney Tseng (100 Fly), and Michael Wang (100 Fly, 400 IM, 200 Fly).

Elise Garcia won three events in the 13-14 Girls division taking the top spot in close races for the 50 Free, 100 Free, and 800 Free.  Elise's time in the 800 was a lifetime best by almost 3 seconds.  Diego Pabalan won the Boys 15 & Over 100 Back touching just one tenth of a second off of his best time.
