TBAY shines at the US Olympic Training Center . . .
If you haven't had a chance to follow the USOTC trip, you can take a look at the blog and some great pictures from the trip by clicking on the Facebook logo from our Homepage. We had special visits from Head National Director Frank Busch, Head National Junior Team Director Jack Roach, as well as presentations from Dr. "G" and USADA.
The swimmers did an outstanding job of coming together and really working as a TEAM with each and every challenge that we threw at them. We had 28 athletes and Coaches climb the Manitou Incline (a rise in elevation from 6,500 to 8,600 ft above sea level), every one making it to the top of the Mountain. Another program training out at the USOTC had 41 swimmers on the trip, and just 13 made it to the top of the Mountain. I thought that speaks volumes of the TEAMWORK and Committment to Excellence our kids had to achieve the Goal! We had a lot of personal breakthroughs and revelations throughout the trip and Coach Sue, Chelsea and I can't be more proud of the young women and men that are now coming home Expected Leaders of TBAY Nation to help everyone understand the Importance of "Creating an Environment that Fosters Excellence . . . Everyday! I know the athletes are looking forward to bringing back their passion and knowledge they gained this trip to the entire program!
In our final Reflection meeting, we asked the kids to write whatever they wanted to Coach Sue and I. After reading them, saying the trip achieved absolutely everything we hoped it would, would be the Understatement of the Century!
