=== IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT 2014 PVS LC SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS ===
There are a few swimmers that are entered in more than seven events in the meet or more than three events a day. They will have to scratch down to those limits. I will remind the coaches of those swimmers at the meet.
Seeding and Positive Check-In
The meet will be seeded in accordance with USA-S 207.11.6. The scratch deadline for the following days events will be 30 min. after the start of finals. In addition, the distance events (800/1500) and all the 400M and 800M relays are positive check-in events. The schedule is as follows:
Check-in for Thursday distance events is 4:10pm
Scratch deadline for Friday events and check-in for the 800 Free Relay is Thursday at 5:10pm
Scratch deadline for Saturday events and check-in for the 400 Medley Relay is Friday at 6:40pm
Scratch deadline for Sunday events and check-in for the 400 Freestyle Relay and the Sunday 800/1500 is Saturday at 6:40pm.
FOR THURSDAY ONLY, the Admin referee will accept email scratches for Friday events (and whole meet scratches) by email to <firstname.lastname@example.org>. I cannot be responsible if your email doesn't get delivered in time, but I will acknowledge your scratch. You can also email your check-in for the 800 Free Relay.
Remember, that if a swimmer doesn't scratch and is a NS, there is a penalty. The NS swimmer is removed from the rest of that day's events, including relays. They must then positive check-in with the Admin Ref for their remaining events in the meet.
If the swimmer didn't scratch the night before and is not going to swim an event, they should do a declared false start (DFS). It is best if this is done during warm-ups with the Admin Ref, but it can be done up to the time of the swim (but not after) with the deck officials. Please do not abuse the DFS process, as it produces longer timelines and empty lanes in prelims. Please scratch swimmers that you know aren't going to compete in an event. However, a DFS is much preferred over a NS.
800 Freestyle Relay
There are eight or fewer entries in the 800 FR events. You are given the option of swimming this event in prelims by designating your choice on the check-in sheet. However, depending on the timeline after scratches, there may not be time to swim a heat of the 800 FR in the prelims session. So, if you designate a prelims swim for this relay and we can't swim it during that session, you will be given the opportunity to swim it at finals.
Scratching from Finals
The USA Swimming and PVS standard procedures will apply. The swimmer has 30 minutes to scratch or declare an intent to scratch. If an intent to scratch is made and the swimmer does not declare a scratch withing 30 minutes of their final event of the morning, they will be seeded into finals.
Failure to compete in finals for any swimmer in the original announced top 24 swimmers will cause the swimmer to be barred from the remainder of the meet.
Please make sure that any swimmer that doesn't plan to swim finals in Sunday evening scratches to give others the opportunities.
Time trials will be offered after finals every night. The deadline for signing up for a time trial is 7:00pm. See the meet announcement for more details. Time trials in the 800M and 1500M freestyle will only be offered on Thursday.
The 800/1500 freestyle events will be swim fastest-to-slowest alternating women and men. The fastest heat of the W 800M and M 1500M freestyle will be swum as the first events of Sunday finals.
