Marin Pirates Masters Resumes!

We are pleased to announce that we will be resuming our Masters program at College of Marin’s Indian Valley pool beginning Monday, July 21st.  We have hired a new head coach and we have restructured the program.

We are happy to introduce Coach Jamieson Prevoznak.  Jamieson has experience coaching Masters at the Marin YMCA in San Rafael and served as an adult aquatic skills instructor at the Jewish Community Center in San Francisco. He is a recognized US Masters coach and will complete the new masters’ certification process in the fall.  In addition, he has an American Swim Coach Association Level 1 certification and is currently working on advancing to Level II.  He is a member of the Dolphin Club in San Francisco where he participates in open water swimming.  While serving in the United States Marine Corps he was an instructor in water survival.  Currently, he is working towards a Master’s Degree in Divinity at San Francisco Theological Seminary. Jamieson lives with his wife and son in San Anselmo.  He looks forward to coaching all levels of swimmers from beginners to advanced.

Our new program will reduce monthly dues from $80 per month to $65 per month.  For the balance of July we will be charging $20.  We will be streamlining the program and offering the following four workouts each week:

Monday           5:30-6:45 AM
Wednesday     5:30-6:45 AM
Friday              5:30-6:45 AM
Saturday          10-11:15 AM

We will continue to accept swim cards ($165 for 15 swims) and drop-ins ($15, maximum 4 times per month).

As always, we offer a free trial week for new members and we are extending this to our returning members.  This means that if you swim for one week and decide not to continue you will not be charged.

As we restart the program our mission for the team is to provide consistent, high level workouts geared to improving each individual’s fitness level.  Our aim is to make every swimmer feel welcome and to make every workout fun.  Jamieson will always be happy to help prepare team members for competitions, but currently we are not offering coach attended meets.

We ask you to encourage any friends and family members who you think might be interested to join our team.  Members who recruit a new team member will receive one free month’s dues.
