Coach David shares the highlights from 2014 Summer Long Course State Championshi

It was an incredible season end for Senior SCAT swimmers, with some tremendous swims at Long Course State. Starting off the show both relays came in 9th for the 200 Free Relay. Maalik Nixon and Alexandra Schmid acquired best times, dropping over a second in the 100 Breast. Nick Palmer swam a scorching 200 Freestyle, dropping 3 seconds to place 12th. John Michael Hall swam an impressive 50 Back to get 7th place in the event. Johanna Goldblatt showed off and placed 2nd in the 50 Back, going a best time as well. Jordan Watson and Samantha Schmid tied in the 50 Freestyle while Johanna Goldblatt placed 24th. The Men's 50 Freestyle was a much tighter race and SCAT was all together; John Michael Hall at 25.56, Austin Palmer 25.76, Nick Palmer 26.03, John Wesley 26.04, Marty Stange 26.06, and Maalik Nixon 26.08. Jordan Watson dropped seven seconds in her 400 freestyle to place 23rd. Chipper Machemehl placed 5th in the 100 Back with a time of 59.01, .02 seconds off the Junior National cut. Austin Palmer, finishing up his last competition before he goes off to school placed tenth in the 200 Fly. We had almost 100% best times in the 100 Freestyle, 100% best times for the girls in the 50 Fly, and Maalik dropped over 2 seconds in his 50 Fly. Finishing off the meet, Alexandra Schmid dropped a second in her 200 IM, and Jordan Watson dropped a whopping 16 seconds in her 800 Freestyle to place 16th and acquire the team record in the event by one tenth of a second.

Overall it was a roller coaster of a meet for a lot of the SCAT swimmers, but they stayed focused, relaxed, and determined to improve themselves each time they got up on the block. Congratulations SCAT on a great long course season!
