Two Swimmers Compete Well for SCS at North American Challenge Cup

Makena Ditsworth and Isabella Kearns traveled to Veracruz, Mexico to compete for Southern California Swimming's North American Challenge Cup team. Both girls had several great races and Isabella Kearns reset her FAST Team Record in the 100 Butterfly. Complete results can be viewed here.
Isabella Kearns raced in Prelims and Finals of the 200 Back (3rd), 100 Fly (2nd), 200 Fly (2nd), 200 IM (2nd), and 400 IM (1st). Her time of 1:05.35 in the 100 Fly was a lifetime best a set a new FAST Team Record for 15-18 Girls. The previous record of 1:05.69 was set by Isabella at last month's Junior Olympics. Isabella's 2:26.72 in the 200 IM tied her lifetime best in that event. She also split a best time of 1:02.43 leading off her team's 400 Freestyle Relay.
Makena Ditsworth raced the 50 Free, 200 Free, 400 Free, 100 Fly, and 200 Fly earning second swims in the 400 Free and 200 Fly. She won the 400 Free with a time of 4:41.88, an improvement of more than 3 seconds from Prelims. Makena finished 4th in the 200 Fly cutting 2 seconds from Prelims.
