One Team Record and 136 Lifetime Bests at Swim Star Grand Finale!
FAST swimmers posted 136 lifetime bests at the annual Swim Star Grand Finale on August 2nd.  Peyton Graham set a new FAST Team Record for the 8 & Under Girls 25-yard Backstroke.  Peyton's time of 18.98 surpassed the previous record of 19.74 set by Kailee Chow in December 2012.
Kelsey Hale, Skyler Kao, Alex Lashlee, Victoria Lashlee, Jordan Miller, Myles Tran, Justin Wang, and Kenneth Yeh posted lifetime bests in all of their races!  The largest drop of the day came from Brianna Schuster who cut 30 seconds off of her time in the 50 Breast!  Brianna dipped under the 40-second barrier for the first time with a time of 39.92.  John Mai posted the biggest drop of the day for the boys chopping over 19 seconds off of his time in the 200 IM for a lifetime best 3:02.45.
Ten of the FAST girls were event winners.  Reagan Glidewell took the 8 & Under Girls 25 Freestyle in a lifetime best 17.71.  Peyton Graham's record-setting swim earned first place in that event.  Dakota Keyworth claimed the top spot in the 8 & Under Girls 25 Breaststroke dropping more than a full second for a lifetime best 27.94.  Kailee Chow won the 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 50 Butterfly, and 100 IM in the 10 & Under Girls division posting best times in 3 of the 4.  Kelsey Hale took the top spot in the 10 & Under Girls 50 Backstroke.  Emma Stewart won the 50 Breaststroke.  Jade Lingasin won the 50 Freestyle and 50 Backstroke with best times in both.  Courtney Tseng won the 100 Freestyle and 200 IM in the 13 & Over Girls division.  Rachel Soong took the top spot in the 13 & Over Girls 50 Breaststroke.  Lilian Pendergrass dropped 3.5 seconds in the 50 Butterfly for a first place finish.  Congratulations, ladies!
Seven FAST boys placed first in one or more events.  Connor Le took the top spot in the 8 & Under Boys 25 Fly.  Skyler Kao had a hat-trick of wins in the 50 Free, 100 Free, and 100 IM posting lifetime bests in all three events.  Myles Tran won two events with his lifetime bests in the 50 Backstroke and 50 Butterfly.  Preston Shin cut over 3 seconds off of his best time in the 50 Breaststroke on his way to victory.  Sidney Kao took the Boys 13 & Over 50 Freestyle while his brother Sean Kao claimed the top spot in both the 100 Freestyle and 200 IM.  Jonathan Lim won the 50 Back with a tremendous drop of more than 4 seconds.  Jonathan's time of 29.59 put him under the 30-second barrier for the first time.  Congratulations, gentlemen!
