CLUB NEWS, September 3, 2014

Looking for some physical activity and social time for your kids pending schools re-opening?

KISU  is offering a Competitive Swim Camp for kids between the ages of 6 and 12!

Swimmers who are new to the sport will get an introduction to swim skills, while kids who have previous swim club experience can expect to work on their competitive skills.

In addition to swimming skills and fun in the water, these camps will offer kids a variety of other activities including time at the beach, games, dryland training, and other fun stuff! All Camp Coaches are experienced competitive swimmers.

Dates: September 8 - 12, 2014

Time: 9am - 12pm

Where: Penticton Community Centre Pool

What to bring: swim gear (including goggles), appropriate footwear (runners), water bottle, snack, and sunscreen . . . we will be spending time outdoors.

Cost: $85, plus a $38 insurance fee for swimmers who are not already registered with KISU Swim Club.

Please register by Saturday, September 6th, at 6pm.  We require a minimum number of kids registered in order for the camp to go ahead, and will confirm with registrants on Saturday evening whether or not the camp is going ahead.

KISU members can register online through the Events section of our website.

Non-KISU members, please contact to register.

If you still have not registered your swimmer for the upcoming season, we encourage you to do so this week - swimming starts on Monday!

Please continue to spread the news about KISU by sharing the See Yourself Swimming video, utilizing the “Refer a Friend” program, and putting up a Poster.  We always welcome new swimmers at any age, but we are particularly hoping to grow our Mini Squad program this season!

Join our Facebook group by clicking on the Facebook icon on our webpage.  It's a great way to keep up to date on KISU happenings, and stay connected to other KISU families.

Ask your boss to sponsor KISU!   We offer sponsorships to raise money for the ‘extras’ like bus travel, coach development or special events. One of our newer sponsorship opportunities is to become a lane sponsor at our two big meets. For $400, companies can have their logo displayed at the end of their lane for the duration of the multi-day meets. We have a total of 10 lane sponsorships available and seven remaining. Please ask your employer if they would be willing to support the club. Check the Sponsor us! tab on the website for more information.

The first draft of the Mini Squad schedule is out!  All mini squad swimmers who were registered by noon on September 2nd should find their swim time on the schedule here.  Please contact Anne if you have questions -
