Last week Jerad Kaskawal, Simon Lamar, and Coach Brian Brown traveled to Hungary for the 2014 Junior Open Water World Championships. This was the first Team USA competition for Jerad and Simon and the third for Coach Brown.
Jerad finished 15th in the boy's 7.5K race for 17 and 18 year olds. Simon finished 30th in the boy's 5K race for 14-16 year olds. Simon also earned a Bronze medal as a part of Team USA's relay on the final day of competition.
Coach Brown served as head coach for the 14-16 year olds, all of whom raced the 5K. Taylor Abbott earned gold in the boy's race winning the first-ever Junior Open World Championship medal for the United States. Two American girls took 4th and 7th in the girl's 5K.
Complete results from all of the races can be found here.
Congratulations to Jerad, Simon, Coach Brown, and Team USA!
