Weekly News (Sept 15-21)

Hello Panthers,

Last Friday was a great way to “kick off” this swim year. There were plenty of great swims, tons of delicious food and lots of laughs. Everything a start of the year party should have. Thanks to all the volunteers who made it happen.

Important Notes:

Patana Tiger Prawn Meet (8 & under only) September 27th

Sign ups are closed and the busing commitment email has been sent out. 36 swimmers and 4 coaches (myself included) will be taking part in the meet this year. That is a great commitment for our first meet of the year. Let’s keep that going for the whole season.

Sign up for Senior and Junior Panther Palooza (intra squad meet)

Junior (10&under) is on Tuesday, October 7 at 1:30 (early release day) Seniors have no practice.

Senior (11&over) is on Wednesday, October 8 at 2:30 so Juniors have no practice.

ISB Swimfest (November 15/16)

This is our first big meet of the year. All the top local teams in and around Bangkok attend this meet. We will have almost 700 swimmers fighting for the Championship. But, we have managed to keep that trophy here at ISB for as long as anyone can remember, so let’s keep it that way.

Sign up on line now; this is the first of two mandatory meets for the year. So no declining, hit the “will attend”!

Other Meet signups available:

Jakarta International School Swim Invitational (November 7-9)

Competitive international meet with many of the top schools and club teams in Asia attending. Great way to meet and see swimmers from different conferences.

RBSC Invitational Swim Meet (Royal Bangkok Sports Club, November 29,30)

Competitive Thai Club swim meet, we are the only local International School invited and we enjoy the relationship we have with one our local clubs.

Helpful hint of the week:

Have back up everything in your swim bag. Google’s and caps break all the time, swimsuits get left behind.
