Buenaventura Swim Club

Team Communication September 24, 2014

Team Picture Details.   This year, we are trying something new.  We plan to take our team picture at Marina Park.  The picture will be this Friday, September 26th.  We will meet near the pirate ship and the photographer will organize us on the beach.  It will be an impressive picture and we look forward to everybody participating.  As such, there will be no practice this Friday.  Please arrive by 5:00pm at Marina Park and look for the pirate ship and continue further to the beach.  Individual shots will take place after the team photo.  All swimmers should wear a white Buena T-Shirt.  If you do not have one, there will be one for purchase at the picture.

Special Meeting and Pancake Breakfast. We will have a special meeting to vote on a proposed change in the bylaws as well as a pancake breakfast this Saturday.  Pancake breakfast begins at 8:30am and the meeting will begin 9:15am near the competition pool at Ventura Aquatic Center.  We hope to see you all there to help by voting on the proposed changes.

Swim Meet Schedule.  Unfortunately, the next meet on our schedule, the Sprint Pentathlon in Carpenteria, has been cancelled.  The next meet for our age group swimmers will be our very own David Graham Swim Meet November 1-2.  The meet events and job sign-ups will be posted soon.

Coaching Changes. We are sad to say good bye to Coach Mo who has been with the team for two years working with Bronze and Pre-Competitive Groups.  Mo is moving on to another adventure in her life and we wish her the best.  The good news is that we are actually hiring two new coaches to assist with Bronze and Pre-Competitive Groups.  This is great news as it gives us an additional set of eyes and helps improve the quality and safety of our program.  Please congratulate and welcome Luke Corley and Jeremy Dugan to our team!

Like us on Facebook.  If you haven’t already done so, remember to “Like Us” on Facebook.  We are named “Buenaventura Swim Club and Ventura County Masters”, and there will be a lot of coach communication, comments, and updates on our Facebook page.
