FINA World Diving Coaches and Officials Conference: Social Media Strategy

Joes Maestas will address to topic of social media and sports:

Joey Maestas (@SportsJoey) has joined the USOC as Manager, Social Media Strategy.  Joey comes to the USOC after spending the last three and a half years at Time, Inc. developing social media strategies for Sports Illustrated and its associated properties (including SI Swimsuit, The MMQB, SI Video). 

He was also a contributing writer to the Sports Illustrated blog network.  Joey’s strengths lie both in his creativity and in his ability to use social media to drive specific business results.  He earned his Master’s degree in Digital Media from Columbia University and in 2013 was named by The Huffington Post to their list of “Rising Stars in Social Media and Journalism.” Soon after launching SI’s Instagram platform in 2012, he earned a FOLIO Digital award for “Best Media Brand on Instagram”. Prior to SI, he served as a Digital Media Consultant for WNET New York Public Media. 

While Joey spent the last four years living and working in New York City, he is originally from Aurora, Colorado and is a graduate of the University of Colorado Journalism School.  Joey relocated to Colorado and is now working from at the USOC's Colorado Springs headquarters building
