Piranhas take a Bite out of DCST

        DCST fell to 0 – 2 on season by losing at home to the Sage (McHenry) Piranhas by a score of 448 - 409.  As a team, DCST had its best meet of the season, so far, with 152 career best times out of a total of 315 swims for a 48% improvement rate.

            Forty-nine swimmers had a great meet with at least two career best times. These swimmers were:  Kyleigh Allen, Matt Allen, David Beaty, Anthony Biundo, Kristina Biundo, Emma Bloyd, Robert Carpenter, Danny Cork, Quinn Cynor, Riley Doyle, Quin Dukes, Trinity Eissens, Anabelle Engleson, Will Fabrizius, Ava Farrell, Kate Farrell, Anna Fell, Adam Goelitz, Serena Goelitz, Brayden Goff, Kaitlyn Goff, Teo Graham, Jacob Gramer, Alex Groves, Theo Heilman, Chase Huff, Evan D. Johnson, Evan M. Johnson, Mase Jurewicz, Elina Keswani, Caroline Mackey, Spencer Mackey, Josephine McMahon, Cole Moon, Collin Moon, Aiden Page, Emily Raetzke, Hannah Raetzke, Bradley Ruetten, Abby Slater, Lily Slater, Rylan Smith, Delaney Stone, Andrew Tatum, Tyler Theis, Zoe Vicker, Emma Westhoff, Aleida Wilkins and Andrew Wu.

            After each meet, the coaching staff picks two swimmers, one girl and one boy, as the “Big Dogs" of the meet. Big Dogs are not only selected on their performance in the meet, but the coaches also take into consideration the swimmer’s practice attendance, work ethic, team spirit and sportsmanship. For this meet, Abby Slater, age 9, and Mase Jurewicz, age 7, were selected as Big Dogs of the meet.
