(L-R are Hannah Boles, Sophie Klube, Ella Hidalgo, and Ashley Hendrawan)
While some people may have taken advantage of a non-team meet weekend to sleep in, enjoy some football, or just plain relax, four young Islanders were up early this past Sunday morning, ready to report to Pacific Swimming's Diversity Camp in San Francisco at 8am.
Hannah Boles, Ella Hidalgo, Sophie Klube (all age 11) and Ashley Hendrawan (age 12) dedicated their day off to representing Alameda Island Aquatics at the all-day camp, learning new swimming drills and interacting with swimmers and coaches from other teams within Pacific Swimming. All four of these girls currently hold Islander team records, so I'd say the Islander future looks pretty bright with the girls coming home from the camp feeling excited and ready to share what they learned with their coaches and teammates.
Thank you for representing AIA so well, we are proud of all four of you!
