DCST Takes a Bite out of the Sharks

        DCST improved to 3 – 2 on the season by defeating the visiting Leaning Tower (Niles) Sharks by a scores of 607 – 240.  As a team, DCST swam extremely well with 211 career best times out of a total of 361 swims for a 58% improvement rate.  DCST had a whopping 52 swims in which a swimmer swam a new event legally for the first time.  DCST also had 22 swims which achieved the District Qualifying and 6 swim which achieved the State Qualifying time for the first time. 

            Seventy-two swimmers had a great meet with at least two career best times. These swimmers were:  Kyleigh Allen, Matt Allen, Camryn Anderson, Kristina Biundo, Nicholas Biundo, Emma Bloyd, Owen Bockman, Gabriella Bothe, Timothy Braun, Cody Carlson, Danny Cork, Quinn Cynor, Anna Davies, Bella De La Cruz, Nina De La Cruz, Sam De La Cruz, Roan Dowling, Lou Dukes, Quin Dukes, Trinity Eissens, Will Fabrizius, Katie Farrell, Anna Fell, Cara Forsberg, Adam Goelitz, Serena Goelitz, Jacob Gramer, Teresa Gramer, Alex Groves, Jenna Hale, Adrianne Hall, Gregory Harrelson, Sean Harrelson, Miriam Heilman, Theo Heilman, Emma Heinisch, Chase Huff, Abbie Johnson, Evan D.             After each meet, the coaching staff picks two swimmers, one girl and one boy, as the “Big Dogs" of the meet. Big Dogs are not only selected on their performance in the meet, but the coaches also take into consideration the swimmer’s practice attendance, work ethic, team spirit and sportsmanship. For this meet, Julia Rasmussen, age 9, and Alex Skrzypek, age 7, were selected as Big Dogs of the meet.
