Sign Letters Of Intent to Swim in College

Signing Ceremony Thursday, November 12th, 2009

Erlanger, Kentucky, November 12th, 2009 — On Thursday, November 12th at 5:30p.m., the Northern Kentucky Clippers Swim Team will hold a signing ceremony for two of the most decorated swimmers in the state of Kentucky for 2009, Krissie Brandenburg and Shane Coltharp. We would like to invite all to attend and celebrate this day with them.

Krissie Brandenburg will be singing her national letter of intent to swim for the University of Louisville where she will join fellow Clippers, Adam Isaacs (sophomore) and Jackie Sherrard (Freshman). Krissie is coming off a remarkable junior year of high school that led to her being named the 2009 Kentucky High School Female Swimmer of the Year after breaking state records in 3 events. She then followed this up by placing Top 16 in 4 of her 8 events at the NCSA Junior Nationals in March.
Shane Coltharp  is signing his national letter of intent with Louisiana State University (LSU) where he will joining fellow Clippers, Audrey Lawson (Freshman) and Nick Kunkel (Freshman). Shane too is coming off an amazing junior year of high school that led to him qualifying for the USA World Trials in the 1500 freestyle. At the Kentucky State High School Meet, Shane walked away with two state titles just missing two state records and was runner up in voting for the Kentucky High School Male Swimmer of the Year.

“Our program is very proud of Krissie and Shane. It is very exciting to see two athletes from the same high school (Beechwood) sign to such major Universities. Both U of L and LSU are getting some of Kentucky’s finest, I know both of them will go onto perform at the highest levels in college.” said Jason Roberts, Head Coach of the Northern Kentucky Clippers. “They have given so much to our organization and their high schools; they will be missed next fall.”

The signing ceremonies will be held at the Silverlake “The Family Place”, Thursday, November 12th, 2009
