DCST Downs the Dolphins

            The Kishwaukee YMCA / DeKalb County Swim Team (DCST) improved to 3 – 0 on the summer season with a 467 – 217 point victory over the visiting Woodstock Dolphins.  As a team, DCST didn’t swim particular well with only 121 personal lifetime best times out of a total of a 316 swims for an improvement rate of 38%.

            After each meet, the coaching staff picks two swimmers, one girl and one boy, as the “Big Dogs" of the meet. Big Dogs are not only selected on their performance in the meet, but the coaches also take into consideration the swimmer’s practice attendance, work ethic, team spirit and sportsmanship. For this meet, Sara Collins, age 11, and Sam De La Cruz, age 8, were selected as Big Dogs of the meet.

            The following 38 swimmers had an excellent meet with at least two best individual times in the meet:  David Beaty, Anthony Biundo, Emma Bloyd, Timothy Braun, Acelin Bruhl, Riley Collins, Sara Collins, Sam De La Cruz, Roan Dowling, Lou Dukes, Morgan Fisers, Dylan Foord, Royce Grados, Jenna Hale, Adrianne Hall, Tyler Hall, Abbie Johnson, Cece Johnson, Evan Johnson, Grace Johnson, Nick Johnson, Haley Kuntzi, Savion Mack, Kayle Mickey, Rebecca Nenonen, Colin Purcell, Dylan Rasmussen, Julia Rasmussen, Kyle Rasmussen, Alex Schlueter, Rylan Smith, Isiss Stuckey, Brendan Sullivan, Kevin Sullivan, Alex Taylor, Ritta Wi, Riley Wiegartz, and Andrew Wu.

            DCST next full team meet will be at home on Tuesday, July 7 against Oswego.
