NE Swimming Partners

Not to be out done by the Senior swimmers last weekend, the 14 & Under swimmers set several records of their own at Harvard this weekend!

Malia Amuan (PHX) set a new NE record in the 9-10 100 free. Her time of 1:05.12 broke the previous record of 1:05.26 set by Elizabeth Beisel in 2003!.

Emma Bates (ATST) set a new NE record in the 13-14 100 breast. Emma's time of 1:14.97 broke the record of 1:15.42 set by Laura Sogar (ABF) in 2007!

Nicholas Toepfer (SSYS) tied his 11-12 NE record in the 50 back at prelims with a 31.29. At finals, he did it again breaking his own NE record in the 50 back with a new time of 30.98! In the 100 back, Nick broke his own NE record with a new time of 1:06.81 and in the 200 back, Nick broke both the NE and RES records.  His time of 2:22.84 broke th NE record of 2:25.45 set by Ryan Harty (GMSC) in 2009 and the RES record of 2:24.34 set by Will Barao (SSYS) in 2013.

Aaron Zhu and Ryan Hogan, both of SOLO, who broke the NE record in the 11-12 400 IM. Their times of 5:06.68 and 5:06.88 both broke the record of 5:07.48 set by Max Miranda (ABF) in 2012! Aaron set new records in the NE and RES 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:34.03 breaking the records of teammate Ryan Hogan (SOLO) set last weekend! Ryan also broke the 200 breaststrokes with his swim of 2:37.62 .Aaron set a new NE record in the 50 breast. His time of 34.23 broke Julian Chun's (ESC) record of 34.28 set last year. In prelims in the 200 IM, Aaron broke Will Barao's (SSYS) NE record of 2:25.94 set in 2013 with a new time of 2:25.63. At finals he broke his own record with a new time of 2:22.71. Aaron set a new breaststroke record of 1:12.78 breaking the NE record of Corey Swanson (ABF) of 1:15.46 set in 2001and the RES record of 1:15.16 of Julian Chun (ESC) set last year.

Many relay records were also broken:

The PHX 10 & under 400 free relay of Malia Amuan, Michaela Chokureva, Carsyn Ide and Ava Young swam a time of 4:43.49 breaking the previous NE and RES records of 4:46.56 held by the MAG team of Elizabeth Beisel, Bender, Aiello and Martin since 2003. The same group also swam a time of 2:10.33 in the 200 free relay to break the NE and RES records of 2:10.67 held by Beisel, Bender, MacKay and Aeillo since 2003.

The CCSC boys 10 & under 400 free relay of Thomas Kiesewetter, Timothy Johnson, Luca Cappelletto and Colton Rasmussen swam a time of 4:43.98 surpassing the NE and RES records of 4:48.32 set by the BOSS relay of LaChance, Spinazzola, McCoy-Palmer and John Bailey also in 2003.

The BGSC 10 & under 200 free relay of Gabriel Lee, Andy Wei, Alexander Tang and Caleb Maldari swam a time of 2:10.01 breaking the previous NE and RES records of 2:12.30 set by the BOSS team of Bailey, Spinazzola, McCoy-Palmer and LaChance in 2003. The same group of boys shattered the NE and RES 200 Medley Relay records. Their time of 2:25.94 broke the records of 2:32.55 set by the BGSC team of Kienzle, Roley, Worthman and Warner in 1995.

The CRIM 11-12 400 medley relay of Alexey Kolishchak, William Connolly, Scott Spear and Richard Li swam a 4:45.00 breaking the NE and RES records of 4:48.33 help by the BGSC relay of Hrabchak, Prindle, Gaissart and Johnstone since 2011.

The SAC 13-14 Girls 400 free relay of Rayna Hata, Ali Robertson, Amelia Benkert and Andrea Wei swam a time of 4:04.73 breaking the BGSC Ne and RES records of 4:05.05 set by Li, Shashkova, Gearan and Wallis in 2013! The same group set new Ne and RES 800 free relay records with a time of 8:47.64 surpassing the old records of 8:47.80 set by the ABF relay of Zeiger, Zeiger, Cordery and Vivado in 2012. Finally the same girls broke the NE and RES 400 medley relay records with a time of 4:34.35. The old records of 4:35.49 were held by the GMSC relay of Ubele, Tulacz, Brown and Brandeberry set in 2011.
