January 2, 2009
This is the MAC News for Friday, January 2nd.
There has been a slight practice schedule change for tomorrow which affects Senior White and Age Group II. They will finish practice at 10:30 instead of 10:45 as previously announced.
Two new meet notices have been posted in the baby pool area of the bubble. The first is for the Robert J. Hogan Memorial Mini Meet ( www.mdswim.org/Top_Nav/Meets/2008-2009_Schedule_Results/MAC_The_Robert_J__Hogan_Memorial_Mini_Meet.htm), January 31 - February 1, at Frederick High School. This meet is open to ALL of our 10 & under swimmers. All entries, along with a check made payable to MAC ($21 for one day, $39 for both), are due to the meet entry folder by 12:00 pm, Saturday, January 10th. The second is for the ASC Senior Invitational ( www.mdswim.org/Top_Nav/Meets/2008-2009_Schedule_Results/Annapolis_Swim_Club_Senior_Invitational_Meet.htm), February 7-8, at the Arundel Olympic Swim Center in Annapolis. This meet is intended to serve as a last chance meet for those attempting to qualify for the MD LSC Championship meet (All-Stars) and is open ONLY to those swimmers who meet the qualifying times listed in the meet notice. Entries for this meet, along with a check made payable to MAC ($31 for one day, $59 for both), are due to the meet entry folder by 12:00 pm, Saturday, January 17th. As always, if you have any questions as to whether your child should attend this meet, please speak to your child's coach.
Be on the lookout for sign-up sheets for volunteer positions for the Robert J. Hogan Memorial Mini meet that we are hosting January 31st - February 1st. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and requires everyone's help! If your family did not meet your two session volunteer commitment at the GTAC/MAC Winter Frolics meet (the NBAC Christmas meet does not count toward this commitment as it is not a meet hosted by our team), you will be REQUIRED to help with this one, regardless of whether your child is swimming. Those who do not volunteer will be assessed an additional fee on their next bill.
Most practices today have taken place or will take place this morning. Senior Red and Black will return to the pool this afternoon for a practice from 4:00-6:00. The practice schedule for tomorrow is as follows - Senior Red and Black from 6:30-9:00 am, Senior White and Age Group II from 9:00-10:30 am, and Novice from 10:30-11:30 am all in the bubble. Age Group I will swim in the indoor pool from 7:30-9:00. Seniors will have morning practice on Monday from 5:15-6:30 am.
Best of luck to everyone competing in the BAAC Splash this weekend!
