September 11, 2008
This is the MAC News for Thursday, September 11th.
MAC is pleased to announce that Katelyn Rossick and Eric Knapp have been selected as our athlete representatives to the Maryland Swimming Board.
TOMORROW is the last day for new families to e-mail our registration chairman, Ed Goundry (email@example.com), and let him know if you plan to stay with the team or withdraw for the trimester.
Don't forget, MAC will be hosting a Welcome Back Pool and Pizza Party for all swimmers and their families who RSVP'd on Sunday from 5:30-8:00 pm at the Hood outdoor pool. MAC will supply the pizza and ice from Rita's, and we are looking for donations of snacks, drinks and "finger foods". If your last name begins with A-L, please bring a snack or side dish to share; last names beginning with M-Z should bring drinks to share.
revised meet notice for the RAC
(Retriever Aquatic Club) Columbus Day Classic
to be held October 11-12, at the UMBC Retriever Natatorium on the campus of the University of Maryland - Baltimore County, has been posted on the bulletin board next to the baby pool. This meet is open to our 9-13 year old USA/Maryland Swimming registered swimmers who are not in our novice group. There are no qualifying times for this meet. Originally, MAC was planning to only participate in this meet on Sunday, but our coaching staff would now like for our 9-13 year olds that are in AG I and AG II to swim on both days of this meet. All entries, along with a check to cover the fees ($23 for 1-day or $43 for 2 days), are due to the meet entry folder by 6:00 pm on Thursday, September 18th. If you have questions as to whether your swimmer should participate in this meet, please contact his or her coach.
Be on the lookout for some possible practice schedule changes for NEXT Friday (Sept. 19th) due to Fair Day. At this point, the only definite change is for Senior White. They will swim from 6:00-8:00 AM and will NOT have practice that evening.
Don't forget to put Saturday, September 20th on your calendar. We will be raising the bubble that day and will need everyone's help. More information to follow soon.
The Annual Maryland Swimming Officials Clinic will take place on Sunday, September 21st from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm at UMBC. More information will be available soon on the Maryland Swimming website, www.mdswim.org.
MAC would like to resume a meal schedule for the Rossick family on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The meals should be dropped off at the pool by 6:15 so the girls may take them home with them. There is a refrigerator in the guard room if you would like to help out but need to drop the food off before 6:15. The following dates are available for September and October - Sept.16, 18, 23, 25, 30, Oct. 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, and 30. Please reply to this e-mail with the date you are interested in preparing a meal for and we will try to send out updates during the next several days with the days remaining.
The practice schedule for today is normal - Senior Red and Black from 4:00-6:15, Senior White from 5:45-8:00, Age Group II from 6:00-8:00, and Senior Prep and Masters from 8:00-9:00 all in the outdoor pool.
