This is the MAC News for Wednesday, August 20th.
We've been experiencing some technical difficulties with the News so if you have already received this news, my apologies.
MAC swimmers has a great showing at our last two end of the season meets. Hanne Borgersen and Laurel Brabson combined to set 10 new team records at the Summer Junior Nationals in Minneapolis. Hanne lowered her own 13-14 and Open 50 free records. Laurel Brabson set new records in the 17-18 and Open 200 and 400 free and 100 and 200 fly. Awesome swimming, ladies!
Our Zone swimmers were almost as prolific, combining to establish 7 new standards. Lauren James lowered the 11-12 girls 100 backstroke record. Joanna Yeh lowered her own 15-16 100 free record and took down a longstanding record (from 1991) in the 15-16 girls 200 free. Katelyn Rossick has 3 new records to her name - the 15-16 200 backstroke and the 15-16 and Open 200 IM. Finally, Will Goundry is now the proud owner of the boys 15-16 1500 free standard. Way to go everyone!
A quick reminder that there are 2 more try-outs scheduled for the upcoming season. The next one will be on Saturday from 10:00-11:00 am in the indoor pool. The final session will take place on Wednesday, August 27th from 5:30-6:30 pm also in the indoor pool.
