June 4, 2008
This is the MAC News for Wednesday, June 4th.
With the forecast for thunderstorms this afternoon, please remember to check your e-mail and/or call the hotline (301-696-8588) prior to leaving for practice if the weather is questionable.
Don't forget, Age Group I and II will be participating in the Dream Extreme (for more details click here - www.mdswim.org/Making_Waves!.pdf) during the regularly scheduled Age Group I practice this evening. All Age Group II swimmers will be allowed to leave once they have completed all of the events. Age Group I swimmers will stay the entire time and continue with normal practice.
If your swimmer has already qualified for Summer Zones or if there is a good chance that they will over the course of the next several meets, check out the information posted here - www.mdswim.org/Schedule/2008_LC__Eastern_Zone_Meet.doc.
Here are the two practice schedules changes I am aware of for the upcoming summer season. The remaining groups' schedules will be posted once they are received from the coaches. Beginning the week of June 16th, Novice practice will be reduced to two days a week - Tuesdays and Thursdays. Novice II and III will swim from 5:00-6:15 and Novice I will swim from 6:00-7:15 in the indoor pool. The groups will combine during the 15 minute overlap to do a short dryland routine. Also, beginning the week of June 16th, Senior White practice will run from 6:30-8:30 am Monday through Friday at the Wetherburne pool in the Whittier community of Frederick. There will be no Saturday practice for Senior White over the summer.
The practice schedule for today is as follows - Senior Red and Black from 4:00-6:30 and Age Group I (and Age Group II for as long as it takes them to complete the events in the Dream Extreme) from 6:00-7:45 in the outdoor pool. There is no practice today for Senior White, Senior Prep, Novice, or Masters.
