We are experiencing some issues with our e-mail from the website...

This is the MAC News for Thursday, April 24th.

We are experiencing some issues with our e-mail from the website.  If you are actually getting the news from MAC News, count yourself lucky.  We are working diligently to determine the exact nature of the problem and to get it corrected as quickly as possible.  Thank you for your patience.

There are some additional practice schedule changes for this weekend due to the NAAC meet.  All Senior Red and Black swimmers not attending the meet Friday evening or Saturday morning should plan to attend practice with Senior White.  Senior White trains from 5:45-8:00 on Friday evening and from 9:00-10:30 on Saturday morning.  Age Group I and II will train together from 9:00-10:30 on Saturday morning as mentioned yesterday.

Muhammed Hudhud has inadvertently received a Women's size M Maryland All-Star jacket.  Please check the tags in the back of your jacket to be sure you have the jacket that was intended for you.  If you have Muhammad's, please bring it to practice so we may make an exchange.

Attached to this e-mail are the timeline and psych sheet for the NAAC meet this weekend.  Timeline is here -

Don't forget, entries and fees for all 3 meets MAC plans to attend in June, the Naval Academy Aquatic Club (NAAC) "A" Buster (for swimmers with slower than "A" times) to be held May 31 and June 1, at the US Naval Academy, the North Baltimore Aquatic Club (NBAC) 2008 Long Course Championships ( to be held June 6-9, at the Meadowbrook Aquatic Center, and the  Green Terror Aquatic (GTAC) Independence Meet ( for swimmers with slower than "A" times, to be held June 21-22, at the UMBC outdoor facility, are due to the meet entry folder by 12:00 pm on Saturday.

Please be aware that the summer trimester begins on May 1st (one week from today) and runs through the end of August.  Bills will be coming out next week.  If your child is in the water on May 1st, you will be responsible for the entire trimester's dues.  The coaching staff highly encourages everyone to continue with the program through the summer!

MAC is proud to announce that the creative talents of the Novice Group (all 39 swimmers) will be submitting art for the Kathy Lynn Rossick art show to be held at the MAC banquet on May 4, 2008.  The art show is in honor of Mrs. Kathy Lynn Rossick, the mother of MAC swimmers George, Katelyn, and Chelsea Rossick, and wife of Mr. George Rossick.  Cancer has many survivors - most of them are family, friends and loved ones of someone who has lost the battle to cancer.  Each Novice swimmer will receive some art paper and guidelines about their art, in their folder today.  Their art will go on display, as a table centerpiece, and then be sold at the banquet.  The proceeds of the art show will go to the Rossick Educational Trust.  We hope to raise awareness about cancer and show support for our family and friends in the MAC community.

The bubble will be coming down for the summer on Saturday, May 10th.  We will need help from as many of our families as possible, especially our dads and older swimmers.  More information will follow soon, but get this date on your calendar now!

On Saturday, May 31st MAC will be hosting a biathlon fund-raiser to raise awareness for cancer and to help support the Rossick family.  All entries, along with the $30 registration fee, are due to Coach Lauren's folder by May 15th.  The event is open to all MAC and Hood Hammerhead families, including parents and former swimmers!

The practice schedule for today is normal - Senior Red and Black from 4:00-6:15, Senior White from 5:45-8:00, Age Group II from 6:00-8:00, and Senior Prep and Masters from 8:00-9:00 all in the bubble.  Novice I will be in the indoor pool from 5:30-6:30 and Novice II and III will be there as well from 6:30-7:30.  There is no practice today for Age Group I.  There will be NO morning practice tomorrow for Seniors due to the NAAC meet.
