February 26, 2008
This is the MAC News for Tuesday, February 26th.
First, some very important information regarding All-Stars this weekend. Another organization will be using the Naval Academy pool on both Thursday and Friday evenings prior to the evening sessions of the meet. All swimmers, coaches, and officials are being asked to remain off the deck until 5:30 pm (warm-ups will begin at 5:40). For those of you who normally arrive early, please take a seat in the stands. An announcement will be made once the deck has been opened to Maryland Swimming participants.
On that same note, the volunteer sign-up sheet for this meet still has many, many open slots. Our coverage of these positions is MANDATORY - our swimmers will not be permitted to compete if the slots are not filled. Please do not force Helene Williams to call you. Be proactive and sign up for the position of your choice. Helene is making it very easy to volunteer. You may sign up on the sheet posted at the pool, e-mail her at email@example.com call her at 301.607.6475. If you choose to e-mail or call, please have several alternatives ready as your choice may already be filled. In case you have forgotten, we are looking for 4 timers for EACH session (excluding Thursday night and the 1650 as those swimmers must provide their own timers) and someone to post results for EACH of the FINALS sessions. For those of you who have already volunteered, WE THANK YOU!!!
Renee Hyrkas has additional Marriott SCRIP cards available for purchase for anyone who is staying at a Marriott property for All-Stars or Junior All-Stars. Our team has already made almost $1000 this year using these cards. If you are interested, contact Renee at firstname.lastname@example.org.
