March 10, 2008
Today is Monday, March 10th and this is the MAC News.
Congratulations to all of our swimmers who competed in the Junior All-Star Meet this past weekend. There were lots of best times! MAC had two top finishers at the meet. Anna Minnick won the 13 year old girls 500 free and Kevin Roeder took top honors in the 16 and over boys 100 and 200 fly and the 200 back. Kevin also earned several All-Star qualifying times which should be good for next year! Way to go!
We would like to thank Terri Kolovich who has volunteered to take over keeping our website records up to date. Kanan Hudhud has also offered to help with the posting of photos from recent meets. If you have any photos you'd like included in our photo gallery, please e-mail them to email@example.com.
If your swimmer ended up with an extra pair of black MAC shorts after the All-Star meet in Annapolis, they probably belong to the Colkets. Please contact Ellen Colket at EColket@jmj.com.
The meet notice for the NBAC 10&U Championships (http://www.mdswim.org/Schedule/2008_NBAC_MD_Swimming_10&U_Championships.doc), March 29th and 30th at UMBC has been posted. This meet is open to our 10 and under Novice swimmers. All entries, along with a check to cover the fees ($21 for one day, $39 for both), are due to the meet entry folder by 6:00 pm on Friday.
Please note that because of this meet, the Novice groups will resume practice after the spring break one day earlier, on Tuesday, March 25th, to allow for 2 days in the water before the meet.
Those swimmers tapering for Sectionals and Junior Nationals will swim from 4:00-5:30 all this week. On Saturday, if they are not at Sectionals, they will swim from 7:00-8:30 and on Sunday they are asked to swim 1,500 yards on their own.
The practice schedule for today is as follows - Senior Red and Black from 4:00-6:00 (except as noted above), Age Group II from 6:00-8:00, and Senior White and Prep are off. Age Group I will swim in the indoor pool from 4:30-6:15. There is no practice today for Novice or Masters.
