Piranhas take a Bite out of DCST

On November 7, DCST lost its first meet of the season falling 709 – 188 to the Sage (Crystal Lake) Piranhas (MCY).  DCST is now 3 – 1 on the season.  As a team, DCST swam okay with 83 career best times out of a total of 180 swims for a 46% improvement rate.

Twenty-five swimmers had a great meet with at least two career best times. These swimmers were:  Jack Blaise, Lillian Bruhl, Cody Carlson, Danny Cork, Sophia Cork, Lou Dukes, Mason Dukes, Ava Farrell, Kate Farrell, Adam Goelitz, Donny Gramer, Evan M Johnson, Grace Kozlowski, Savion Mack, Rebecca Nenonen, Julianne Parsons, Emily Raetzke, Hannah Raetzke, Benjamin Russell, Alex Schlueter, Domenic Schlueter, Brendan Sullivan, Alex Taylor, Natalie Wagner, and Grace Wehrhan.

After each meet, the coaching staff picks two swimmers, one girl and one boy, as the “Big Dogs" of the meet. Big Dogs are not only selected on their performance in the meet, but the coaches also take into consideration the swimmer’s practice attendance, work ethic, team spirit and sportsmanship. For this meet, Ava Farrell, age 11, and Jack Blaise, age 7, were selected as Big Dogs of the meet.
