Thirteen DCST Swimmers Compete at IHSA Sectional Meets (5 Qualify for State Meet)
Thirteen DCST High School Girls swam for four different high school teams at the IHSA Sectional Meets at three different Sectional Meets. Five of these swimmers qualified for the IHSA State meet. Listed below are these swimmers.
Byron – Serena Goelitz and Megan Hale represented Byron High School. As a team, Byron finished 4th at the Byron Sectional Meet.
DeKalb / Sycamore Co-op– Nine girls on the DeKalb / Sycamore Sectional team are DCST swimmers (Camryn Anderson, Bailey Flemming, Sarah Hein, Grace Johnson, Jensen Keck, Colette LeBlanc, Kylie Olson, Elissa Roose and Aleida Wilkins). As a team, they finished 4th at the St. Charles Sectional Meet. Kylie Olson, Jensen Keck, Sarah Hein and Bailey Flemming qualified for the IHSA State Meet on the 200 Medley Relay. In individual events, Olson qualified in the 100 Backstroke; Keck qualified in the 100 Breaststroke and 200 IM; and Hein qualified in the 100 Butterfly.
Aurora (Rosary) – Athena Ye represented Aurora (Rosary) High School at the Neuqua Valley Sectional Meet and the State Meet. Rosary won both of these meets. Athena won three state titles (100 yard Backstroke, 200 yard Medley Relay and 200 yard Freestyle Relay)!
St. Edward (Elgin) - Mikaila DiCostanzo represented St. Edward (Elgin) High School. Mikaila swam with DCST as her high school does not official have a high school team; therefore, the team was not allowed to score points at the St. Charles Sectional Meet.
